TRANSITIONS

A few years ago I had the privilege to meet Lily Miller, a friend of one of the girls in Sunday School - Alta Betts. Recently she has made the decision to move to Pleasant Plains to be near her son and daughter and grandchildren, and that's a good move. To be with family is a good thing. We will surely miss her, though. She is one of those people you meet and feel as if you've known all your life. Today's Women of Mission meeting was her last time to be with us, as she'll be moving in a couple of weeks. I had the good sense to ask if I could take her picture. She's a lovely lady, always smiling and laughing. We did, however, get an invitation to visit her and have a WOM meeting at her new home! I can see us taking her up on that.

I always have a great time at WOM. Today was Bible study day, too, but I went to WOM instead. A hard decision, but WOM had already changed this month's meeting to the day after Labor Day since the regular meeting is first Monday of each month. Either group is wonderful to be a part of. I took macaroni and cheese as a side dish for the delicious BBQ that Sue and Bobbie provided. And I apologized for it - for the mac/cheese - it was truly about the consistency of a rubber ball. In fact, if the whole thing had fallen outof the dish, I'm sure it would have bounced. A new recipe. I should have known better. Anyway, I'll do better next time. I do better with baking.

Several of us volunteered to go to ASU in a couple of weeks to help serve lunch to the BSU students. We're baking cakes as our part of the meal and will leave early to travel to the campus. I'm looking foward to that.

One of Amy's classmates and FB friend (Nyika Wright) had this posted on her profile. Has it been 18 years already since they graduated??

Hi,Pat, a little off topic here but I have finally started blogging again and was checking to see what was going on in your life. You have been busy as usual. Hope all is ok. I skimmed over some of your posts and I am having the same things I need to do as you, getting rid of recipes and going through photos. And you are right, these things don't do themselves. Take care!
