Emmy - and Linda

Tara called and we went to Richard's to visit her and Emmy. She had lots of company including "great-aunt" Jean, Uncle Neall and Aunt Becca, and "greats" us - Paul and Pat! Richard was there but he didn't hold Emmy so he is in the background. Last night at church John's cousin-in-law Kim asked me who she looks like and I said, "John." She had seen pictures on the blog and heard others say so, but I don't think she's actually seen Em. Occasionally the Daniels features are very evident, and she will hold up her little fist when she stretches, sort of like Teri used to raise her hand for a turn to get a word in (like that was a problem for her!).

We met Linda, Richard's friend Friday night at Josie's. She's very outgoing, smart, friendly. I liked her immediately. She has invited us to visit her and said she would have brunch and do some things in Batesville - shopping, seeing her handiwork at her friend's antique store. (Linda embroiders - that's not the right word - but stitches proverbs/sayings on cushions for different markets, one being the Arkansas Flower Show.) I'm happy for Richard; they seem to get along fine and are comfortable with each other. I don't think Linda probably has ever met a stranger.

The weather this weekend was beautiful - two perfect days back to back; and it is pretty outside now. Bren just emailed that she's going home early this afternoon to work in her flowers. Looking at maybe working a 4-day week. She's like me - needs extra time to do things, recuperate; time for hobbies, reading and interests. It's about time!
