Easter

We spent Easter in all directions: Paul in Iuka at his mother's; me (and Oscar) in Columbus with Sher and Mama; Amy in Memphis with Beth and Tim.

I made a gazillion (really about 200) pictures of antebellum homes on the Pilgrimage in Columbus - the azaleas were beautiful (dogwoods had already had their glory days). I stayed from Thursday to Monday; Paul went for Easter eve; Amy was off only one day but had her company. Sher does look so like Mama, as she is always saying she does. The weather was bright and sunny but cold and we had to wear jackets every day we were out except Easter morning. This was just after church.

Left, with Mama, at one of the antebellum home's garden, gazebo/summer house in the background.

Right, Sher's house at the top of the hill, with azaleas in bloom. I brought some of these "stems" home to plant. Someone told me it would work; we'll see - I put out 9!
Twenty years ago today, Daddy Nick died. The dogwoods were in bloom then; they had bloomed later than they did this year, and his funeral was graced with beautiful white lace all along the way of the procession and in the cemetery in the country. It seemed like a special touch of grace that spring after a long hard winter.
