Wild Animals, Stress, and Pets

"The moment you wake up each morning, all your wishes and hopes for the day rush at you like wild animals. And the first job each morning consists in shoving it all back; in listening to that other point of view, letting that larger, stronger, quieter life come flowing in." - C. S. Lewis

In my email this morning at work was one from our prescription drug company telling us that multi-tasking causes stress. (Really?) And that pets, even with all their expense and antics, helps us feel better:

"At a deeper level, pets help us connect to our own animal nature, the carefree part of ourselves that doesn't have any deadlines, mortgages, or annoying coworkers. In fact, growing evidence shows that owning a pet can help protect against the stresses of life."

Points made and hopefully taken:

1)Listen to God.

2)Multi-tasking is not good for you.

3)Play is good for you.
