Happy Birthday to Me!
Today I'm 58.
I'm very blessed. I have regained much of my strength after last year's bout with viruses, funguses and maybe, just maybe, I am slowly adjusting to life without Teri. She would have called me by 7 a.m. today to sing Happy Birthday to me.
But Bitty The Cat was in her usual place in bed with me, waiting for head scratches and to be fed. Paul wished me Happy Birthday and said he was taking me out to eat tonight. Carolyn Ha sang to me when I arrived at work. Sharon gave me a card. And Beck brought me this cute pair of yellow earrings and coordinating yellow-orange-pink-green-blue-colored pendant on a yellow multi-cord necklace. I had changed my mind about which jacket to wear this morning and put on my denim withe the multi-colors in it and it matches the jewelry set! Nice little surprise. All things work together for good... :)
Amy was going to come over just for my birthday, but she is scheduled to work today. Still, it's the thought.
Sher called me back last night after having spent a good bit of time in a bookstore and said she had bought me a "little prize" and would send it. Earlier in the day we had talked and she said she would bring me something back from her and David's vacation in Palm Springs.
And I got several cards Friday and Saturday: Beth at the bank, Alta from Sunday School, Mama, Aunt Ginny, the church staff. Polly Fisher brought my "Bread of Life" loaf of homemade bread Saturday afternoon. (Her grandfather's birthday was March 6.)
It's so wonderful to have a birthday and to be remembered by so many loved ones.
Teri, I missed your call this morning, but I think you must be singing in Heaven.
