MICHAEL

I have a brother named Michael.  I'm sure I'll never forget which hurricane hit Panama City on Wednesday this week.  Not for that reason only, but because sister Sherron's house is there (rented), as well as most of her household belongings in storage.

Her house is okay; her friend/handyman Dan boarded up her windows.  What a blessing he is!  Renters evacuated.  Neighbors have reported her house is in good shape with roof of her storage shed blown off and a fence blown over.  There are huge trees around her house and in the Cove area; Bonnie next door had a tree fall on her deck.  Trees at least by Sher's house are still standing.  The Lovejoys on the other side of Sher stayed and he called her for a quick update.  There is no power or water.

Tyndall AFB wehre Sher worked before moving to Virginia may be a total loss as far as active AFB.  Acres and acres of buildings, surrounding forests just pitched around like toys and match sticks.  The economy will not recover for a very long time and especially if Tyndall closes.  Her renter works at a nearby paper mill; his wife is a real estate agent.  They have their jobs - at least he will/probably.  Ironic - trees are already down, maybe they can be salvaged for the mill?  I have no idea what they process there, though.

Mexico Beach, pretty little beach town east of PC is just in the worst shambles.  Sher and I have been there; we stayed overnight there on one of my trips.

Heartbreaking to see images on internet.  Saved some to put on here.  Just no stopping the views of devastation.
