MAMA NICK

My sweet mother-in-law passed away Friday, very peacefully, with family surrounding her. She had longed to go be with the Lord and her little frail body just finally released her sweet soul and spirit. I can only imagine how it must have been in those last breaths for her to know she was holding onto the Hand of her Saviour Jesus, and waving goodbye to those of us who were praying for her and each other. What a mystery of faith. What a great love she had for us, for God. What a greater love He has for all of us.

This was Mama Nick in her early twenties. Her granddaughters all have a striking resemblence to her. She was a beautiful Christian lady, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt.

When we bought her home here, she had life estate. We have felt at home all the time we've been here. Now it just feels different. It was indeed her home, and we will be good stewards of it. I can already tell her presence, though not physically in this house any more, is no longer here. She was still the mother, the home maker, the spirit of this place. We have a wonderful heritage through her life and in the memories we keep dear.
