Out of the Fire

This is my favorite of the two pieces I had ready to glaze-fire.

"You don't really have to be so precise," I told Mr. Haven.

It seems almost as if the sloppier you are putting on the glazes, the better they look! This one was precise, but there were others' pieces that just came out beautifully - Jean's bowl for instance, shown here, also. I would have never thought so by how she had put on the glaze. It is a gorgeous piece.

Just another lesson from pottery: You don't have to be perfect to be beautiful. You are one of a kind. Seeming flaws can be fired into glorious expressions of character - of a piece of clay, or a person.
