Sister sent this in an email to her daughter Melanie ~
Below is the best card Pat ever send me (about 12 years ago). I read it on mornings like this:
Let's say you have a little house, a bungalow by the sea, maybe,
and you wake up to the waves whispering on your private beach
(just go with this for a while...)
You come out to your back porch, no schedule, no plan,
no clock, sea breeze blowing, cup of coffee,
no clock, sea breeze blowing, cup of coffee,
and the sun's just waking up, too,
and maybe a friend brings by
a bowl of fresh blueberries (are you with me?)
A wish for you: all the time in the world...
A wish for you: all the time in the world...
Sher does have a little house, near the sea. The waves are nearby and she does make the most of her time in her busy schedule, enjoying timelessness, sunrises, sunsets, I tea, fresh anything: blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, lemon. (She actually had a lemon from her little tree this year.) I'm glad this card has meant to much to her over the years. I sent it to her and it arrived at a time when she could hope for those things... And thankfully, many have been realized.
Meanwhile in my always happening little back yard, it was creature feature day. These little critters scampered among the pine, ash, and pecan tree branches.
Checkin' the pantry in the neighborhood ~
Oh, no! Outta nuts!
Later that same day... The man and another beast, er, family member watched the Colts win!
