Sher went to see Aunt Margaret today who is in assisted living center near Sher's home. Sher asked one of the nurses or aides to take this picture and Aunt Margaret finally said okay. In her younger days, she was a striking woman - black haired, always tanned, self-assured, a little outspoken I thought, but then I was a timid teenager. I think by her example, she even taught me to speak up! She was so good to me and did a lot for me at a time I needed doing for! Her daughter JoAnn also lives in PC, and hopefully when I visit Sher we can all get together. I haven't seen JoAnn since our grandmother Goobie died in 1987. We have talked a few times and stayed connected; we exchange cards. I still think Aunt M is very pretty, and she has twinkling eyes a lot like Mama's. Ironically, she is the oldest and the last living sibling of Mama's family. I noticed on the bulletin board behind her is a picture I sent her of her, Mama and their other sister Shirley when they were young girls. I sent it just after Mama died, so she's had it a little over two years. I noticed she's holding a stuffed tiger. When her mother, Goobie, was in the nursing home, she had a stuffed cat she liked to hold. Sweet. So glad Sher went - she took some family pictures and said they had a really good visit.
