Subject: Woo Hoo - Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a good afternoon; amazing how tired I feel here and then when I get home, I get outside and no longer feel the same way. I did some outside fall things, like roll up my watering garden hose, take buckets that were scattered around back to the shed, just puttered around outside - until a chuckwagon came with two young men in it - that needed help - one had a "culture poster" to make and needed to print out some pix (it had all kind of examples of themes and he had to use at least six - to show his culture - course we had plenty, like under religion, the pix of his baptism, the inside and outside of our church, etc) and the other young man had decided to run for SGA in his class and wanted to try out his speech on me! So, among sandwiches and bowls of cereals, we accomplished both tasks! and I was so proud to do so! They're both such good boys and I can see them both turning into young men - one day they won't need MawMaw's help - but right now, I'm enjoying the heck out of it!!

J (Jim) and D (David) finished with the hay and hauled it in; all looks cleaned up and ready for fall/winter.

It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!! and tomorrow will be one more marble gone for you!!

love ya,

VBF

My answer:

Oh, I have a feeling those young men will always need you in some way. They’ll always have your spirit whether they are physically in your presence or you in theirs. I think it’s so neat they want help from you and to share with you.

Sometimes my energy is filled back up by the time I get home. I did go on to WM yesterday before home, and got a few things. They don’t have National Geographic, I wanted October’s – about Redwood Forests in Calif – but our library will and they can be checked out after a couple months. We had Frito/chili for supper. I was in bed by 7:30, read a while and went to sleep. Around 11:30 the storm woke me up. Took a pain pill. Slept good the rest of the night. Dreamed about me and Paul having an old house and re-doing it. I remember saying in my dream, “I just love this old house.” Now what’s the message in that?? Heart was racing when the storm woke me, but it finally settled back down. I was so tired, I really didn’t care and after I took the other pain med, I guess that helped.

Before I came to work I ordered another pair of the Merrell shoes/mules (backs out) with the fleece lining – brown; I have black. They’re the only ones that are comfortable all day. I think even my knee (L) was swelled last night; both legs were so touchy to pant legs against them… Nerves.

Paul’s driving over to the middle part of the state to look at an old truck 1954 Ford. Don’t know if he’ll buy it. He’s always looking for an old vehicle to work on, but not completely overhaul like he has done before (Mustang). Then tomorrow he’s leaving about 12:30 to go to Starkville for 6:30 ballgame and BACK home after the game. I told him I wish he wouldn’t do that – stay over, but he won’t. But I guess as long as he can do it, that’s what he enjoys. Too much driving/sitting for me.

I got my Marble Jar caught up when I cleaned up last week – I’d not been there or not wanted to fool with it, but I counted out the Saturdays I’d been gone or missed and put them in. Yep, one more Saturday. Tomorrow I have to get laundry-folding caught up – have not folded one bath cloth all week and I think Paul has washed everything that’s been washed. Thank goodness.
Going to start a project at work when IT says it’s ready: scanning personnel files. Really every personnel file here is one I’ve “built!” Imagine that – Only one girl has been here longer than me and not by much. I looked in mine yesterday just to see what all I’d have to sort down and my original app was in there – used to have to put your weight on it and I weighed 130 lb in 1969! Also a banner from our old printer that had Happy 40th Birthday on it! That probably can be thrown away; or I’ll keep it – it was mine anyway. Will be interesting to see all the stuff. I kept people’s cards from vacations, newspaper articles about them, some things that were not really anything “personnel” except it was a good place to put that for them. Maybe I will scan that too – it’s part of their “history.” It can be “MISC.”

Hope you have a good day. Next marble after tomorrow – be spent with you!!

Love vbf

We encourage each other all through the week. I love to get her "country stories." She was the city girl who ended up in the country; and I was vice versa. We've known each other and been best friends since 9th grade...
