Thursday
It rained again last night; I heard it about 11:00. Oscar didn't want to go out this morning on the wet patio, but I made him. The only sound in the house now is the dishwasher and the keyboard clicking as I type. A nice quiet morning. Meeting the girls at 11:00 at Don Jose's, so I didn't eat much breakfast - one of Paul's Honeybuns and a cup of coffee. We had a good visit and good lunch; Jean and I split a chimichanga and it was enough, that and the chips and dip.
Charlene invited us to get some pears at her house that came from their farm. I just got three; I didn't want enough to make preserves. This old radio was sitting in her garage - it is Bill's that they had when he was a kid. Zenith brand. Love the cabinet. Imagine all the Lone Ranger, Burns and Allen, and One Man's Family episodes that came over the airwaves and through the big tubes inside. A long way from computer chips, a gazillion aps for this and that, and iPods.
I don't remember what Jean was telling here, but it looks as if she's leading an impromptu chorus! "Now hold that note, girls!"
